Another Soccer Season on the Horizon

Yep, that's right...let the soccer games begin.

Kyle talked me into coaching his team again this season. I told him that the only way I would do it is if we tried a different league. So he agreed... reluctantly, but he did. (That is another post on its own.) So we have our first team practice this week and then our first game this Saturday. The first game should be interesting as we got our rosters late from the league. We will have to play as a team and not even know each others names yet. I am a little stressed about it but at least all the other teams will be in the same boat.

At the same time that I am coaching a team for Kyle, he will also, possibly, be playing for one of the "academy" teams (higher skilled club team). And, on top of that, I will be starting my season in a few weeks. Shhwwoooo. That is a lot of soccer. Oh yea, we are also still driving way across town for hockey 2 times per week, too. Yes, we are a sports nut kind of family. So you ask...where/what does the hubby do? Well, he the photographer, videographer, chauffeur, bank, cheerleader, ...well, you get the picture. He is actually the most important part of it all. We could not do any of it without him. He is so wonderful.

....Let the games begin....

Snow Day

Fun in the Snow

Yesterday, we ventured out and headed up to play in the snow. It was a long day but it sure was a lot of fun!! We stopped off at a local gas station and purchased a couple of snow disks for the kids to use on the snow covered hills. We got some video of all of us sliding down the hills, uncontrollably. I have not figured out how to post video on my blog yet. So, for now these pictures will have to due. I was having too much fun with taking video that I forgot to take pictures. I took these as we were leaving town and needed a good hot drink to warm up.

Winter...??

After waking up this morning, I looked out the window and to much of my surprise it is actually looking a little like winter here. No, it didn't snow but it was overcast, rainy, some wind and some of our trees are actually changing colors (...from green to yellow leaves...like... overnight) . I am not used to this. We, typically, do not get to see any trees change colors out here...much less the ones in my yard. I have not watched any weather news forecasts lately, so I don't know if anything is "officially" different than from years past but it sure feels like it to me.

It's going to be GR8 in '08

Happy New Year! I love even numbered years. Don't ask why. I don't even know...just do.

There is no better way to start the new year off than with some good hockey!

We are glued to the "telie" right now (well it's the 2nd intermission so I thought I would do a quick post). We are watching the 1st ever American NHL outdoor hockey game, the NHL Winter CLassic 2008. It is the Penguins up against the Sabers. They are playing in Buffalo in the stadium where the Buffalo Bills play. It is cold, rainy, snowy and windy...perfect hockey weather. If it were any other sport the game would probably be canceled. Ha!

Anyways...that's how we are celebrating the new year. What about you?
